Here is lucky episode 13 of the SSAATY (StillSecure, after all these years) podcast. Luck actually had something to do with it, all bad.  We had some heck of a time with our recording equipment and had to go with just head sets and microphones.  But all is well that ends well and the quality is actually pretty good.  Mitchell and I are joined this with week by tonight's very special guest, Mark Wilkinson.  Mark is the Chief Security Architect at a major, publicly traded network infrastructure provider.  Additionally, Mark is the founder and former CTO of Mirage Networks.  On top of this Mark is one of the most creative, brightest people you are going to speak to about networks and security.  He has a lot to say and is not shy about saying it (sounds like he should have his own blog).  Tonight Mark tells us about his background and what excites him about security today.  Mark is a visionary in his predictions about what is coming down the pike in the convergence of network switches and security.  I can guarantee you that you will learn something from listening to Mark! In addition to Mark, Mitchell and I do our regular "this week in security".  We discuss: 1)       Sourcefire and Nokia partner. Does this pull Sourcefire out of it’s post-Checkpoint slump? http://www.informationweek.com/news/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=192500386&subSection=Breaking+News 2)       Forbes: HP to buy Checkpoint? (Last week it was Symantec). Is this Sourcefire / Checkpoint in reverse? http://www.globes.co.il/serveen/globes/docview.asp?did=1000128038&fid=942 3)       Microsoft / Citrix partnership to offer BOB box in ’07 http://searchnetworking.techtarget.com/originalContent/0,289142,sid7_gci1171944,00.html4)  AT&T becomes the latest to lose customers confidential data   http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/08/30/att_admits_dsl_customer_data_theft/ Mitchell and I also go into vendor hype and MS OneCare.  All in all a great show.  Next week we have a special show with an all star panel on how to sell securitywithin your organization.  As usual thanks to ClickCaster for hosting my podcast. Tonights music is again from Jon Schmidt, To the Summit.  You can hear more from Jon at http://www.jonschmidt.com.
